In the right order, this series is like a Todd Solandz saturday morning cartoon.

Which is awesome.

The Youtube comments are a perfect garnish.

Johnny Madhouse - 2010-02-17

This is actually kind of horrifying.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-02-17

MOTHER
FUCKING
HYPOCRITES

abeli$con - 2010-02-18

you have extremely poor taste

on a related note didn't like the other one but this one is quite fine. mmm ennui

oogaBooga - 2010-02-18

Hypocrites how? Because we find satire of stupid girls funny and garbage like excel saga tedious?

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-02-18

Oh, right. This is satire.

I almost forgot how many of you have incredibly shitty tastes when it comes to humor.

APE_GOD - 2010-02-18

Tedious is the wrong word. Garbage like excel saga is lobotomizing.

MrBuddy - 2010-02-18

I've always heard that Excel Saga was satire (don't know, haven't seen it).

oogaBooga - 2010-02-18

Excel saga is an asinine excuse to cram every detestable facial expression and cutesy piece of garbage cliche thing (like people falling over in one frame with a water drop on their head) ever conceived into a giant clusterfuck of preening, dopey plotless excuses for the voice actors to cause my eardrums harm.

Sputum - 2010-02-18

Caminante, is there a part of you that feels like you don't belong? Because that part is important.

You aren't special, not even in a bad way. You are just bad.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-02-18

I don't belong among people asinine enough to think videos like this one are clever.

Well, I hope you can all hear how loudly the tears are coming out of my eyes because of that!

APE_GOD - 2010-02-18

This is the definition of satire.

1.) Comically overstate consumerist culture's connection between happiness and materialism by portraying the characters in a hyperbolic state of euphoria as they walk through a shopping mall. Have them discuss the phenomonology of desire while looking at rhinestone purse.

then

2.)Reveal the character's interior world of enervated desperation while restating their devotion to consumerist culture by enshrining this misery within the accoutremonts the characters spent the last scene venerating. Also pace these scenes much slower and make the characters sedentary to further contrast these two states. This is reffered to as irony and is the spine of satire.

Sorry that there weren't more girls with blue hair.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-02-18

How about this: Some of you are so obsessed with giving off the image of being clever or deep or getting something or what-FUCKING-ever, that you can't see bullshit when it's staring you right in your gigantic faces.

oogaBooga - 2010-02-18

I like how nothing caminante said in any way approached confronting the truth offered by APE_GOD.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-02-18

Okay, fine: The points this thing is trying to make and the issues it is claiming to address are so shallow and immature that no perceived skill with satire is going to keep it from being paltry garbage.

APE_GOD - 2010-02-18

You are one of those people who didn't laugh ever during the 1999 film "Election", aren't you.

CornOnTheCabre - 2010-02-19

ahh, the tears of a solipsist

APE_GOD - 2010-02-18

erm that was for Cami. Sorry, drunk.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-02-18

What is particularly cute about these is that they combine a sentiment most people grow out of by the time they're halfway through college with one most people don't develop until they are old and bitter.

You booze-soaked louse.

oogaBooga - 2010-02-18

HURR THIS ISNT ANIME AND PEOPLE ARE LIKING IT SO EVERYONE IS A HYPOCRITE

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-02-18

POINT: This video is childishly inane and bitterly superficial.

COUNTERPOINT: Act childishly inane and bitterly superficial.

Goethe and ernie - 2010-02-18

Speaking of things people grow out of before they're finished with college, how about Japanese cartoons?

APE_GOD - 2010-02-18

I don't understand why you are forcing this analogy between satire like this and Japanese pop culture.

Is it because in this case they are both 'animated'? Is that it?

Beyond that, they have no common ground, whatever.

Furthermore I am right because I am awesome. I am so awesome that if I were a transformer I would be a '76 Chevelle that turned into Ernest Hemmingway.

I think that should settle this.

Yes.

Albuquerque Halsey - 2010-02-18

I really want to add a "Caminante Nocturno mangina Tabasco" tag, but this is one of the few times in my life that I can see myself as the better man in an argument.

And Then Explosions - 2010-02-18

Oh shit.

This is the "Understanding Joshua" guy.

Hooker - 2010-02-18

Right, some of you are seriously overstating the level of satire and profoundness of this. I mean, seriously.
