The music lends this footage an undeserved atmosphere of tragedy and feverish obsession; this man is simply an artist, not a madman. I am sure that for him this act of creation was a joyful one, and his hockey mask is just to keep hunks of wood from hurting his face.
If spending 10 minutes of a Friday evening watching some Japanese guy make a videogame character chainsaw sculpture is wrong, then I don't wanna be right.
When he was doing some of the more delicate work, like the fingers, I was worried that a big chunk of wood would just unexpectedly break off, ruining the whole arm. That would suck.
I would not have believed all that could be done with a chainsaw, let alone the same big-ass chainsaw.
