It's really cool but I don't understand why you'd put a bagillion hours of work into something like this without investing any time in presentation.

He could have given it a nice finish and gotten a metal shop friend to create some cool trim and make it look like a crazy steampunk quantum popper machine.

Yeah, steampunk would have made this better. Steampunk. Definitely. The guy should have pasted useless gears all over this thing and worn goggles while he was showing it off. That is what is missing. From this. Right here.
