So in 1993, before the existence of the World Wide Web, Unix had a graphical, semi-virtual reality, user interface? Uh... now that I think about it I guess I am being a little nit picky. After the girl is trying to use Unix while being attacked by dinosaurs.

It's called FSN, and it's part of IRIX (SGI's UNIX). It was a silly toy that pretty much everyone saw as a useless marketing gimmick.

It's pretty funny how the only real thing in Jurassic park is the computer, given Hollywood's love of machines that run on magic and sound like old invoice printers. Even the part where Wayne Knight shows on the screen was a stock IRIX screen saver.

Well OSX is built on Darwin. My wife uses Ubuntu. There are groups like http://www.linuxchix.org/ and http://women.debian.org/home/ and in my previous job as a Unix/Linux sysadmin I had a female colleague that started out on VMS and moved on to AIX and Solaris. I'd say yes.
