As understand it, it's a cyst formed by a tapeworm larvae that burrowed out of the intestine and got lost in the body.

They're actually lucky to have a Taenia solium encyst in their eyeball rather than their brain.

This ladies and gentlemen is why you don't eat tapeworm eggs. For some reason they really like going to the brain and cause Neural Cysticercosis which can cause inflammation, seizures, and death, if I recall.

This is exactly what happened to my brother when we were children.

He now has a cloudy film over one eye and terrible depth perception. He tailgates like crazy and wants to get a motorcycle.
