the only memory i have of this is when i was around 5 my sisters boyfriend brought me and my brother this as a gift. i dont think we ever played with it.....

creepy crawlers were actually from 1963, and this commercial is post 2000, after the original manufacturers sold the rights to another company.

I had the Thingmaker II (the 1970s iteration of the Creepy Crawlers gear) and it was shaped like a cauldron. I was probably too little to appreciate how awesome a cauldron you can make bugs from was at the time.
