The Great Hippo Attaching a laugh-track to scenes of domestic and sexual abuse--recast in the format of your average family sitcom--was brilliant. One of the shortfalls of this movie, though: It proves that violence and abuse are so pervasive in culture that you can't parody them without paying unwitting tribute to them.
