I don't know whether "Fuck Texas" or "They're getting what they deserve" is more appropriate, so I think I'll split the difference & go with "Fuck what they deserve". It doesn't make much sense, but at least it's fair.
Five stars for making me once again feel that democracy is a completely doomed experiment because fucking retards will continue to be given a voice and thus continue to run shit into the fucking ground. Please find this man and kill him.
Totalitarianism isn't what it's cracked up to be either. I guess we're doomed either way. Unless we can construct some kind of Brave New World scenario and put it in place.
Also: Social studies is a fucked up political thing anyway. For example in my native Romania they edited all the text books to praise the revolution and the post-coup provisional government, forgetting all the nasty shit that they had done to civilians in the chaos after Ceaushescu's death. (IE sending in the miners to beat the shit out of protesters, making a quick fortune by scraping all the state owned factories and laundering the money, etc.).
TL;DR: social studies is a vehicle for propaganda most of the times anyway.
When you're talking about Texas, education should always appear in quotes, like so '"Education" in Texas' it's a simple principle and I think you'll get a lot of distance out of it
