It's like watching the worlds oldest music video. It's breathtaking.

All these people are dead.
Charles
Not necessarily. The earthquake didn't kill *everyone*.

splatterbabble
Anyone born then would be 104 now.

Charles
And people have lived to be 120 before. My grandfather is 100.

splatterbabble
I didn't say they would be dead, I just said they would be 104. The math is right but it still blows my mind. When I was a kid most of them would have been retiring...

Seems pretty hipster.
Rodents of Unusual Size
I have watched this several times...it's hypnotic.

Weird music choice. I thought it was more of a soundtrack to an afternoon in a city park, stonedly watching the sophisticated women walk by.

Back when the only traffic law was GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY.

Oh Jesus, the dog whistle at the beginning! Thanks for the instant headache.

I've always heard high frequency tones and if you don't detect it, this video has one through it all, but it's worst at the begging because there is not other sound.

I came for the Air, left with the video of awesome.

Just like today, nineteen-ought friscan car drivers are impatient assholes, each one thinking the road exists solely for him.

The big guy strutting across the tracks starting at 2:26 looks like he's strutting to the music.

everyone dressed in brown and black suits in 1906. no exceptions.

I like how you can spot the police officers right away by the way they walk and yell at kids.
FABIO
I always found it odd how, despite having less than 1/3rd of today's population, every old timey street picture seems 10 times more congested.
Syd Midnight
I've watched this 3 times in a row and literally no one, not even a single discernible person is not wearing a hat. Not even one out of about 1000 random people. See for yourself.

Few videos evoked as strong of a reaction from me as this one did.

Also, changing the original FPS (24?) to something that is smooth by today's standards adds so much to the dream-like quality.

Dreamlike, I imagined myself in that time and place, but also looked with longing, partially aware of the here and now and my computer screen.

Bustle at 6:20. This video is amazing. I know where I want to go when I die.
