and yahtzee complains about games being samey and predictable
IrishWhiskey - 2010-06-03
I don't know if you had that comment saved for copy-paste, but this is one of the few reviews where he never mentions either of those complaints.

watch the review again and then read my comment, then read yours

IrishWhiskey - 2010-06-03
Are you watching the wrong video? Or typing in the wrong window? Or thick? Because he says it copies books and tv shows, but never once compares it to any other game (well except the brief RE4 scythe throw reference, but that hardly counts). He complains the graphics, combat, the plot contrivances, the spoilers of upcoming scenes, and the handholding, but never once calls it predictable.

In short: YOUR MOM! If you take umbrage to this, I am willing fight you with haddocks at dawn.

Meerkat - 2010-06-03
Zero punctuation video review comments are always samey and predictable.

IrishWhiskey - 2010-06-03
Less interesting alternative: If you meant that all his reviews are the same and boring, and therefore he is a hypocrite, than the fact that he doesn't mention those two common complaints in the course of the review undermines the premise of your criticism.

In this event, I would suggest frozen otters rather than haddocks. I'll need to do it in two days, as the otters take time to catch and freeze.

2:58 "atmospheric, but nonetheless samey scenery"

3:23 "combat was as mechanical and predictable as a factory production line"

and when did I ever say that he was comparing it to any other games?

no umbrage here, but I'll take you up on that haddock duel thing.

This isn't Red Dead Redemption.
This isn't Red Dead Redemption at all.
Squeamish - 2010-06-03
I found his review to be wholly in line with my experience with the game.

Seriously, they name drop Stephen King like the dude was giving them money.
MrBuddy - 2010-06-03
That's why I watch Zero Punctuation, the reviews are curmudgeony but usually accurate.

Two great tastes that go well together.

Xenocide - 2010-06-03
Seriously, Alan's game would be so much better if Alan would shut the fuck up.
Caminante Nocturno - 2010-06-03
Alan's Game sounds like a sappy made-for-TV movie about high school football player who's dying of a disease they plan to name after him.

memedumpster - 2010-06-03
With Ricky Schroder as "Coach."

Xenocide - 2010-06-04
My above comment also applies to this movie.

La Loco - 2010-06-03
Why can we go full screen within poe with escapist videos and not anything else!? LAAAAMMME.
Caminante Nocturno - 2010-06-03
Chet receives kickbacks from Yahtzee for that. Chet's in the pocket of big video game review. Chet lied to justify the invasion of Unskippable.

Chet smells like lilacs in the rain.

And his touch raises welts.

nemeses9 - 2010-06-03
The moment Yahtzee jizzed all over Portal everything else he said became invalid.

He's pretty much dead on about this game though, except he forgot to bring up the part about the shameless corporate advertising IN THE FUCKING GAME.
Adham Nu'man - 2010-06-03
I jizzed all over Portal.

I cleaned it up later though cause the Xbox wouldn't read the disc anymore.
