Word is the kid had scandalous pictures of a female student on his cell phone and was showing it around, the principal attempted to confiscate the phone as it potentially has child porn on it, and the kid chose to start shoving someone much bigger and older than him.

All he did was place his arm in front of where the student was trying to go. That is one of the few moves teachers have that's perfectly legal. Its when the student attacked him after this that the principal lost it. And who knows, as a principal he may have received the restraining training that would make some of this allowable. Without that, you're not allowed to so much as touch a student who may be throwing a desk at you(guess how I learned that).

Is that the restraining training that gave the kid a concussion once they were safely hidden in that office? Because, you know, the kid got a concussion.

I'm not going to guess about why somebody would be so annoyed that they would hurl a desk at you. I already know.

I think that in high school, you don't have to be a bad teacher to get a desk thrown at you. It's like a breeding ground for behavioral problems anyway. And he probably got the concussion from being slammed to the ground, not anything that happened "behind the scenes".
