Walt loved progress? He was a NAZI!

The last time I was at Disney World, I rode the Carousel of Progress. There was a malfunction and the carousel stopped turning, but the animatronics play on a loop and kept repeating. I still hear "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow!" in my nightmares.

10:30 is where it goes from boring to terrifying.

Oh, so that's where that exhibit in Bioshock 2 came from.

So THIS is what "Meet The Robinsons" was based on.

This starts with granpa dragging you into the holodeck to show you how much better it was in the suck old days, and how hot your mom was back then. Then, he has a stroke and loses twenty years, but keeps talking.

"I've blown the whole neighborhood again!"

Then the holodeck malfunctions, changes the period, and granpa is too confused to notice, but starts complaining instead of praising. He likes showing off that your mom was fat and embarrassing while grandma was a work horse.

Then, the holodeck switched to the 90's and I couldn't take it anymore.

A couple of years ago Disney got rid of all of the Pleasure Island bars and replaced them with this. Truly horrifying.

I can NEVER see this thing without this vivid scene ala Final Destination in my head.

A GIRL SEATING PEOPLE FOR THE RIDE. (CUT TO HER UNUSUALLY LONG PONYTAIL.) SEATING IS ALMOST FINISHED WHEN SHE HEARS HER CELL PHONE RING. SHE SNEAKS THE CALL BY BACKING UP AGAINST THE WALL, SEEMINGLY IRRITATED BY THE CALLER. (CUT TO HER PONYTAIL DRIFTING TOO CLOSE TO HEAVY LOOKING GEARS BEHIND A ROTATING PANEL AS THE ATTRACTION STARTS.) SUDDENLY (AFTER SEVERAL 'FALSE STARTS') HER PONYTAIL IS WRAPPED AROUND THE GEARS AND SHE IS PULLED BEHIND THE ROTATING PANEL. THIS PANEL SLIDES SEVERAL FEET AFTER EACH SCENE. SHE IS BADLY HURT BUT STILL EVERY MUCH ALIVE.

Girl:"HELP ME!!! OH MY GOD, HELP MEEE!!"

(CUT TO SMILING AUDIENCE AND BLABBERING ANIMATRONIC MODELS.) NO ONE CAN HEAR THE SCREAMS OVER THE USUAL NOISES. CLOSEUP OF HEAVY GEARS SPINNING AS CAROUSEL ROTATES TO NEXT SCENE. GIRL IS CRUSHED FURTHER, WITH ARMS VISIBLY COMPOUND FRACTURING.

Girl (Crying): "PLEAAASE! I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!!"

CLOSEUP AGAIN OF ANIMATRONIC MODEL SPEAKING ITS LINES, THEN OF A GRANDMOTHER WITH HER GRANDSON TALKING ABOUT THE SHOW. CUT TO CLOSE UP OF BLOODIED GEARS WHICH START TO SPIN AGAIN.
