And it was amazing.
Weird. I searched the hopper and PoE for "punch" "police" "seattle" and "child support meal ticket seekers" and that still didn't come up.

From all the people recording this, I'm shocked there aren't MORE angles..

Yeah, don't do that. Use the Google search option.

1. This was all because she jaywalked.

2. whats worse? punch to the face, or tazer gun.
It wasn't because she jaywalked, it was because she called him a white piece of shit or something.

At least that's what all the black people on Rainier Ave called me when I was growing up there.

One thing you never do is resist arrest. Everything will be videotaped. You will have your day in court. If you're calm and non-aggressive and do whatever the cop wants, chances are you'll stand to win your court case for wrongful arrest and you may even get a settlement from the city.

If you act like an asshole, then the judge will likely not side with you.

You have Miranda rights - and whether you like it or not you have the right to remain silent. You have the right to an attorney.

Don't escalate a bad situation into something worse.

This video is much better than the other one, specifically for the amusing difficulty he has restraining her. Christ, is he even trying?
That's a good point. Maybe a change in title to reflect this is a different vantage point entirely?

Stars for the sheer ineptness of the cop.

From what I understand, these girls acted stupidly.
resisting arrest IS acting stupidly.

She shoved a cop as he was trying to restrain somebody. I don't see why anyone is surprised that this escalated the situation to the point where he felt like he needed to lash out to regain control. I'm no supporter of cops, but holy shit if I shoved a cop I would have to expect an ass beating is heading my way.

I saw the huge fagdance over on POE-N before I saw this video, and now that I've seen it I am of the opinion that everyone in the video is a moron and I do not find this punch to be shocking or surprising.

SolRo: So is resisting arrest, which is also acting stupidly.

Jack Dalton
as well as resisting arrest....

Jack Dalton
It surprises me there is a controversy at all actually. They were caught doing something illegal and when confronted over it, they blew off the police officer. When he tried to arrest one of the girls, she resisted, and her idiot friend tried to interfere. Somehow everyone is shocked she got punched in the face. In fact, he used heroic restraint not tazing either of them-- he should get a humanitarian award.
Any ACLU lawyer will tell you you're stupid for resisting arrest, no matter how unfounded the cause...

..but dont they teach better restraint techniques than a sock to the face?
if you choose to enter as a third party in an altercation between a citizen and a police officer it would be safe to assume that the officer would act as if you were a legitimate threat, whether you were or not.

the thing that gets me is all these people standing around like they're proving something, if you want to get rid of corruption in the police force then dont stand up for some entitled' girls under a bridge, go out and get rid of the shit that necessitates a police force in the first place. human trafficking? whats that?

Good thing he stopped her. She'd still be jaywalking!

Is no one going to say it was really dumb to punch her? No one?
and how was it dumb rous

Her friend shoved the cop. That's about the end of the argument right there.

If you're smart, you don't shove cops. That officer had plenty of legal rights to defend himself the second her hands touched him.

A lot of people, like me, aren't so much bothered by the punching so much as the situation leading up to that. Was it really fucking necessary to go through all of this? Arresting someone for jaywalking? That just reeks of a small-dick cop out out to start shit.

Normally, Seattle cops are out of line in these kinds of things. However, if I had to put up with what this cop went through, I would've tazed them both, then probably the guy recording...all while shouting "are you serious?!?!?" at him.

God bless those tech-nerds that saw fit to put video cameras into the pocket of every person in this country. The more angles the better.

The cry of anguish at the end is a real treat.
Remember, kids, if you're going to take on the police, you have to do it so overwhelmingly that they can't kill you for it. Practice by slapping bulls with broom handles or something.
I notice a lot of these videos of cops acting like clowns involve much older men "restraining" teenage girls. Somehow this does not surprise me.

Please stop defending douchebags like this. There about a hundred better ways to diffuse a situation and "restrain" a 17 year-old girl besides punching her in the face.
Only he clearly attempted to restrain her and, well, you see the result right here.

Remember, citizens can never be dickheads -- only cops.

thanks to this officers courage and dedication to duty that 17 year old negress will never jay walk again. and the other one will never try to prevent some one else getting manhandled and arrested for the most chickenshit victimless crime in history.

thanks to him and thousands of white middle class coplickers like you

why couldnt he just write her a ticket you faggot

Maybe the whole 'she blew him off" thing had something to do with why she didn't just get a ticket. You know what happens when you refuse to acknowledge a cop and his ticket? I don't, but I suspect something like this. Also, I don't think I know how to spell acknowledge.
