This is kind of strange, because I've been doing a lot of research on book marketing on the net (it's sort of attached to something my company is pitching to a publishing company).

As it turns out, ~40% of teens watch trailers for books before buying them and claim that it is an important factor in influencing their purchasing a book, which is astonishing to me. This is really the worst case of it, but it might actually work wonders on the soft minds of 12-yo peer groups.

Awful, but at least she's putting more effort into it than most yahoos who think that all they have to do is get their awful book, their poorly-edited zero-plausibilty political thrillers, their elf/vampire/demon romance novels, their lame attempts at slice-of-urban-life novels into "print" via a vanity press or some POD outfit like iUniverse or PublishAmerica or Lulu.com and success and bestseller-dom is only a step away.

That said, this makes Eragon sound like a timeless masterpiece.
