God damn, Anderson Cooper, fuck you.

AC : You find God yet?

"You mean the one that wants gays like you put to death?"

StanleyPain - 2010-08-13

Thanks for the one star, but that's kind of why I submitted this. It's interesting to see Hitchens hold his ground and deal with the prodding of Cooper, who is almost like some kind of kid with a new toy.

memedumpster - 2010-08-13

It was a tossup between seeing this as five star evil or one star aggravating. I'm sorry for any hard feelings.

Rovin - 2010-08-13

balance obtained.

StanleyPain - 2010-08-14

RRARRRGH I WILL KILL YOU FOR YOUR ONE STAR LIKE THE DOG YOU ARE!

Nah, I'm not mad, I'm just clarifying that I submitted this because I like Hitchens and as someone who has lost family members to slow cancer deaths, his attitude and his composure and honesty in this appearance outshines Cooper trying to do...whatever it is he's doing.

Baldr - 2010-08-14

I'm sorry your confirmation bias is so strong that you can't imagine Anderson Cooper's questions are driven by honest curiosity, and not Jesus-freak evangelicalism.

Black Napkins - 2010-08-14

I'm sorry that your media awareness is so dim you're unaware that Anderson Cooper works for a network that had a panel about atheists as a disliked minority without a single actual atheist in the panel.

This is less "Cooper is a Jesus-Freak" and more "Cooper is a face for the Turner Wrestling Federation". If he was honestly curious he could have done and has done much better.

Black Napkins - 2010-08-14

Ah hell, I'll add that I think he did a well enough job, but I want to acknowledge that he's riding a line because he has to.

Baldr - 2010-08-14

You think the network founded by a guy who once referred to Christianity as, "a religion for losers" has an institutional bias against atheism, and they sent out a super-secret memo to Cooper that he should ask questions about Hitchens' beliefs.

This makes you a retard.

Bort - 2010-08-14

It's not nearly as bad as you make it out to be; Hitchens was the first one to bring up the supernatural, and Cooper didn't hammer Hitchens on how he needs to believe. He did ask a lot of questions regarding his relationship to religious friends and foes, and I think that's fair game.

It's a shame that Hitchens won't be able to write the obituary for elderly villains like Kissinger. If there is a hell, that bastard is going there for beating the drum for a war that could have been avoided, a war that ultimately killed thousands of Americans and countless non-whites.

Nominal - 2023-07-05

Speaking of beating the drum of a needless and tragic war,

WHY does everyone think Hitchens is so great again?

Samisyosam - 2010-08-13

Author Hitchens? His name is Christopher you idiots.

StanleyPain - 2010-08-13

I'm not sure why someone re-submitted this, but this clip I submitted is the full interview pretty much uncut (the bumpers are removed) and the re-submission clip is heavily edited and is about 10 minutes shorter.

takewithfood - 2010-08-14

Sorry, that was me. The clip appears to be broken to me, but I guess some other people can see it. Weird.

Riskbreaker - 2010-08-14

Gone.

StanleyPain - 2010-08-14

No it isn't.
