WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2010-09-05
Woo, I love it when comedians stop with all the pesky "jokes" and just make one-sided political rants and use their position as a bully pulpit.
Wander - 2010-09-05
YAH MAN STOP ABUSING YOUR POSITION AS A "COMEDIAN" TO SPREAD YOUR VIEWS!

Seriously though David Cross has always done this.

zerobackup - 2010-09-05
Yes I prefer my one-sided political rants disguised as "news" a la Glenn Beck and co.

CharlesSmith - 2010-09-05
"Hey guys what's satire? I thought comedians were those guys who film water skiing squirrels."

themilkshark - 2010-09-05
No offense but those people who staunchly believe that the President is a secret Muslim terrorist communist nazi despite their being no proof or evidence of it deserve to get bullied. A little. By a comedian. Ha ha.

Anaxagoras - 2010-09-05
Umm... the teabaggers *are* the joke. The fact that they're an easy joke doesn't make them any less funny.

yrmom - 2010-09-05
haha who wants dessert is a fucking moron. stick to vidya games you mouthbreather

Toenails - 2010-09-05
I got kicked in the nuts and it was caught on video, am I on the bully pulpit now?

But seriously, I see what DESSERT is trying to say. Cross pulled the tired "ALL CAPS" shtick when describing how the other side behaves. Its use is pretty prevalent in political discussion, even to the extent that there's a Cracked.com article about it somewhere (yes I read Cracked, wanna fight about it???).

It's effective, but it distorts the issue. But you should realize DESSERT, comedians are well known at distorting issues and using bully pulpits to forward their ideology. Liberal ones just do it much better and are waaaay funnier.

P.S. Fuck off yrmom. Keep your trolling on POEN cause nobody wants you here. AT least DESSERT posts videos that get accepted to the Front page... all you do is be a bitch and get yourself banned from the site.

RocketBlender - 2010-09-05
yrmom's 'sick burn' doesn't even make sense, WWD is usually the one making fun of us nerds in the vidja game posts. Still like him more than you though.

La Loco - 2010-09-06
Cracked dot com wrawks!

Raggamuffin - 2010-09-06
Haha! Hey guys, I like David Cross slightly less than you do!

mashedtater - 2010-09-06
i also read cracked.com

blood_visions - 2010-09-08
does it also bother you when Sam Kennison yells or Mitch Hedberg mumbles stoner shit?

voodoo_pork - 2010-09-05
Not exactly the most insightful dissection of the teabaggers, but "YOU GET THE FUCK OUT" made me giggle.
Rovin - 2010-09-05
Hell yes.

Yup.
memedumpster - 2010-09-05
Because he's never been an opinionated douchebag about a president before.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yIXXnz9xy0

We were all fucking teabaggers during the Bush Administration.
dek863 - 2010-09-05
I think you missed the point.

Mike Tyson?! - 2010-09-05
I don't think any Liberals are exactly flooding the streets with out great Obama is doing other than he's slightly less terrible than Bush.

Pillager - 2010-09-05
No, we were rightfully alarmed about tax cuts during two wars of choice.

Also, we knew the term "Tea Bagger" was taken...

pastorofmuppets - 2010-09-05
It's totally different. He's calling out the tea party for criticizing the US while getting offended when others do it. But in the earlier video he criticizes the US, and this new one he's...

...getting offended when others do it.

Ok, but the context (protesting an unnecessary war vs protesting the existence of civil rights) is somewhat important.

Anaxagoras - 2010-09-05
What? He's not offended that they're criticizing the U.S. He's offended that they're completely misinformed, yet vehemently cling to their idiotic ideas. If you want to show him up as a hypocrite, you'd have to demonstrate that he's also grossly misinformed.

I don't follow David Cross, so maybe you could do it. But those 2 clips side by side don't demonstrate any hypocrisy.

chairsforcheap - 2010-09-05
excellent.
pastorofmuppets - 2010-09-05
Got the voices dead on.

(I wish it was just blubbery tears. Instead it's arson, urination, vandalism, disrupting prayer with swearing and dogs, and oh yeah, fucking stabbings. I propose that we make the grand canyon a free speech zone and put everyone that owns a US flag shirt in it until December.)
Rodents of Unusual Size - 2010-09-05
How about the local landfill?

pastorofmuppets - 2010-09-05
No, the pack mules might get hurt.

Mancakes - 2010-09-05
HOW DARE YOU!
John Holmes Motherfucker - 2010-09-06
David Cross gets five stars for being David Cross. Now, more than ever, America needs an ANALRAPIST!

But I sort of agree with WHO WANTS DESSERT, about thuis particular performance. He's usually funnier than this. There's no joke here. Maybe he's just too angry to be funny. Can you blame him?
NewHeavenSalesman - 2010-09-06
in five years david cross is going to look scarier than Dave Foley.

also, while he is saying stuff that everyone on here has heard before many a time, there's probably some people who are more used to traditional media's utter terror of insulting the Tea Party, and this might actually be fresh to them. So, whatever.

Jet Bin Fever - 2010-09-06
It sounds like Ronnie Dobbs joined the tea party.
