I remember seeing this live, too. I felt embarrassed for Stewart, especially for the Star Trek sketch.

I think he was still doing his one-man show on Broadway. Someone should have told him that SNL had these things called "microphones" and he didn't have to boom out his lines.

Goes on way too long like SNL skits are wont to do; the joke is over halfway through and they spend the rest of the time awkwardly fucking the corpse. Patrick Stewart is a mensch, though.
