Well, I'm a liberal and here's some facts:
The uranium story is OOOOOOLD news. we knew Iraq had uranium for ages and it was removed from Iraq in something like 2008. It was unrefined. In order to turn uranium into something weapons grade requires a ton of other shit that Iraq didn't have. During the years that the US was happily giving Hussein all the chemical weapons he wanted so long as he killed damn dirty Kurds with them, the rest of the world's intelligence community was busy trying to make sure he wasn't trying to attain much more powerful weaponry, and in fact we have other countries to thank for Iraq not having become far more of a threat than they ever were.
The Bush administration tried to tie the existence of the 500 tons of uranium to a purchase made by Hussein from Niger in order to portray him as a present day threat that he was trying to attain the uranium for making nuclear weapons. This was used as one of the primary reasons for invading Iraq.
All of the intelligence regarding this uranium and Hussein's supposed capability to turn it into nuclear weapons was revealed to be a hoax essentially perpetrated by the Bush administration for their own purposes, though the full extent of it has never been revealed it, horrifyingly enough.
So..Bush DID lie. Kids DID die. Not that YOU would actually know anyone who died in Iraq since, you know, you and your ilk are fucking cowards. Making death threats on gays or politicians while hiding behind the first amendment is much more your speed you spineless fucktard.

This guy is still doing this?

Oh, that's hilarious. Using the term "reparations" in a context where it's completely meaningless, except that Barack Obama is the person allocating funds to study Climate Change and he's black.
That certainly helped him "lynch" the argument, if you know what I mean.

Nithing - 2010-09-26 I sure wish he'd be more 'niggardly' with our tax money *wink wink*

citrusmirakel - 2010-09-26 You're still a very believable character.

I have a friend like this. He informs himself by browsing news channels and websites until he finds someone saying something he likes - then he believes and starts repeating that. Everything else is a lie. Credibility and evidence have no bearing on what he considers to be fact. To him, logical fallacies are not embarrassing, they're tools you can use to win an argument.
You can easily talk him into a corner by showing him evidence (often a single wikipedia page is enough), at which point he either complains about "liberal bias", or pretends he has his own evidence somewhere, but he conveniently "can't find the webpage anymore".
No matter how many times you call him out on shit, he never learns his lesson. Condoms increase your changes of getting AIDS. Sex education can make you gay. Evolution is falsifiable. Global warming is a hoax. Iraq had WMDs. The USA has the best health care and the healthiest people in the world. Taking prayer out of schools causes teen pregnancies and low test scores. Blah blah blah.
This is how reality works in his world. Its fascinating.

Fur is Murder - 2010-09-26 Sounds like you shouldn't be friends with him anymore.

takewithfood - 2010-09-26 Yeah, that's a very light example of the word "friend". We don't talk terribly often, as you might guess. He's really just an idiot, and I keep thinking I can forgive that. He was raised in a very religious household, where the natural inclination toward reason was quickly stamped out. You don't fact-check the bible. You don't ask for your minister's credentials. Now those rules apply to his whole life. You don't fact check Fox News. You don't ask for Glenn Beck's credentials.
Every time he's shut down in a debate, he has a choice shoved in his face: he must either accept that almost everything he believes is 180 degrees backwards, or just keep doing what he always does. Inertia is a powerful force.

takewithfood - 2010-09-27 I regretted that wording as soon as I re-read what I'd posted. I hoped no one would notice.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2010-09-26
To quote Dick Cheney, this scumbag is "the worst of the worst", and calling what he does "willful ignorance" is sort of charitable. His birther stuff. (I'll search for it when I have time is just ugly, hateful, cowardly lies. Nothing like a Christian who is "open minded" and "flexible" enough to bear false witness against his neighbor.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-09-26 Typical pinkotv, trying to pretend like a couple of scientists' defensive publishing strategy didn't invalidate either their own research or the last 30 or 40 years of international efforts in the field.

"Illuminati Pictures?"
I doubt that this guy even owns a book that wasn't "written" by Glenn Beck, let alone ones by the likes of Robert Anton Wilson.
|
TeenerTot - 2010-09-27 Like most things he talks about, he doesn't know what "illuminati" actually means. It just sounds cool and scary.

charmlessman - 2010-09-27
Hey, I can do that too!!
You know how liberals say this, "WAH WAH WAH, HUG A TREE TO FREE NELSON MANDELLA!!!"? Well it's a LIE. One time a liberal said so, so even liberals know it's a lie. They just want to roll joints with the Declaration of Independence.
FOR. THE. HURFDURF.
