Crispin Glover was supposed to have played this. I wish that could have happened.

He would have been amazing as Philo or in Weird Al's role, too. Imagine if that was the only change in the movie.

My buddy in college could recite this in his sleep. He did so, regularly.

UHF had some awesome scenes embedded in a terrible movie.

This is one of those scenes.
MrGrinn13
terrible movie, eh?

VoilaIntruder
Supplies! It wasn't terrible.

Terrible on what grounds? I think it epitomizes a particular genre of self aware slapstick/gag comedy myself.

Anaxagoras
Terrible in the sense that every scene that either furthered the plot or involved the bad guys was painfully bad. Just annoying... not at all funny. Similarly, many of the paradies (both of movies and of TV shows) were horribly predictable and didn't cause me to crack a smile at all. This despite the fact that I was a Weird Al fan at the time.

Counterpoint: almost every scene with Stanley was brilliant.

Did you see this movie in the context in which it was released or are you approaching it as a representative of contemporary cinematic values judging it within those constraints?

simon666
Fart.

Anaxagoras
It's crap either way.

Fart indeed.
