From what I can tell, whenever a group makes a point of saying they don't endorse any candidate, they actually endorse the Republican candidate.

Anyway this is insane. This is the equivalent of setting up a fake voting booth and putting signs in Spanish near the real one that say to keep going. Like the cartoon gag where road signs get spun around, but with democracy.

No. Endorsements matter in how a group can define itself under the tax code. When a group endorses a candidate, it loses its status as a 501(c) tax-emept organization and donors to it can no longer write off their donations as a charitable contribution.

However, they are allowed to "educate" the public on issues and this provides the justification for them getting involved in politics.

Basically, over time various organizations' "education" has come closer and closer to endorsing a candidate but stop just short of it. At this point, there's usually very little doubt what candidate these groups support, so an official endorsement is dangerous and unnecessary to the group and its donors.

That said, I don't think you can really attribute this to Sharron Angle. It works in her favour, certainly, but this isn't her organization.

I should clarify: If latino voters actually decided not to vote, it would help Angle. The ad itself will probably help Reid, as long as he isn't too much of an ass about it.

It's not just this post. Everyone seems to be playing fast-and-loose saying this "De Posada" character (president of Latinos for Reform) has GOP ties, but i couldn't find any evidence of what those ties actually WERE.
