So simple a baby could figure it out.

Sputum - 2010-11-14

well if that isn't the definition of outsider art...

Oscar Wildcat - 2010-11-13

All my stars for everything, not the least of which "There is no difference between the command line and source code". Also, assburgers, not autism.

memedumpster - 2010-11-13

Made it eight minutes.

Adramelech - 2010-11-13

What has to happen in your life for your voice to sound like that?

kwash - 2010-11-13

For bonus fun, re-watch the video while imagining he has a gun to his head. It explains a lot of the voice shaking.

Ursa_minor - 2010-11-13

He's extremely nervous, which also strikes me as funny. Some of my students have Asperger's, and they will get amazingly hyped and nervous over the strangest things. It's actually charming and interesting.

fedex - 2010-11-13

oh Ursa, I'm starting to think YOU are the charming and interesting one

**bats eyelashes spastically**

Syd Midnight - 2010-11-15

For about 45 seconds I thought it was Ulillillia, and was kinda surprised he'd kept it a secret that long, but Ulillillia doesn't usually get this excited.

Mister Yuck - 2010-11-13

Seven years. Full time.

Riskbreaker - 2010-11-13

This guy has very wacky notions on how software development should happen and how operating systems should be designed, and makes some rather... curious connections between facts. The site losethos.com is a pretty wonderful treasure-trove of software engineering crazy.

HarrietTubmanPI - 2010-11-13

I checked the website. It sounds like the guy I replaced.

Oktay - 2010-11-14

No kidding:

"Recreational programming"

StanleyPain - 2010-11-13

Ulililia has some serious competition.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2010-11-13

It's predominantly command line driven.

Killer Joe - 2010-11-13

I would love some cop show detective to open up a suspect's computer looking for clues and see this.

Lurchi - 2010-11-13

"Here's the flight simulator...uh, let's not look at that anymore."

fedex - 2010-11-13

still lol'ing from that one

baleen - 2010-11-13

00:56 is the only thing I understood.

kwash - 2010-11-13

...so how do I get to the boobs?

Chancho - 2010-11-13

You type them in at the command line:
( . )( . )

grep - 2010-11-13

Chancho...

Oktay - 2010-11-14

Anyway.

boner - 2010-11-14

WHAT. THE. FUCK

Enjoy - 2010-11-14

Nice find Mike

Mike Tyson?! - 2010-11-14

I have my finger on the pulse of Austism YouTube uploads.

He seems to be exactly what I expected him to be. He's probably extremely good at extremely obscure things.

Oktay - 2010-11-14

Ok, I'm obsessed, which doesn't bode well. But:

"My OS is 640x480 for a reason. It doesn't have graphics hardware acceleration and it's simply too slow with higher resolutions. Bochs or QEMU are idiotic for me! If I thought it would run 1600x1200 resolution, I would have done VESA modes! You're running it in a window of a higher resolution! Morons! I would have done higher resolution if that worked!"

And this is from the initial post in the thread.

Syd Midnight - 2010-11-15

DARPA ought to round up a few dozen of these dysfunctional outsider programmers and let them play with some million dollar equipment, just to see which ones suddenly click and

Syd Midnight - 2010-11-15

turn out to be insanely talented at some very specific technical field

fedex - 2010-11-15

and thus were the seeds of SkyNet sown...

Xiphias - 2010-11-16

As incredibly ridiculous as this project is, it does require some pretty serious talent to create.

There's a valuable lesson about talent here, I think. That is to say, talent doesn't count for much if it's in something useless.
