I'd take hot sauce over the belt buckle any day.

Maru - 2012-11-28

yeah okay tough guy anything that isn't a belt is automatically fine.

Old_Zircon - 2010-11-28

That's worthy of jail time.

magnesium - 2010-11-28

Hot sauce? This woman is traumatizing her kids in a way that will rob them off a lifetime of enjoying delicious Mexican food.

Also, five stars for evil child abuse.

The Mothership - 2010-11-28

Or, better yet, he will someday provide us with a color-coded, cold-shower hot-sauce fetish video. 'swish it' will be the safe word.

simon666 - 2010-11-29

Nah... My Catholic grandmother did this to my father when he was a boy and my father now likes hot sauce. It seems while the "punishment" was painful at first, he became accustomed to the pain then appreciated the qualities of the sauce.

Mike Tyson?! - 2010-11-28

My parents just hit me, and look how I turned out!

Posting 5 star videos on PoETV, that's where bitches.

wtf japan - 2010-11-28

Is it safe? IS THE BLUE CARD SAFE?!

fluffy - 2010-11-28

Pulling a card? What the hell is that?

Macho Nacho - 2010-11-28

I had this at my Elementary School.
Technically, it's a three card disciplinary system where if a child acts out or disobeys the teacher they get a different colored card.
There are usually three different types of colors with green being the preferred card to stay on, yellow being a warning, and red is the worse card, since that means the kid is in big trouble.
Something like that.

Old_Zircon - 2010-11-28

It's actually the most offensive part of this. The low-rent psychological torture is bad enough, but the "my way or the highway" brand of rigidly structured authoritarianism pretty much sums up how awful this kid's life must be ALL THE TIME. Because even at the best of times, there's the constant implied threat.

gmol - 2010-11-28

I feel nothing but sadness in these cases. The insanity of school is supposed to be somewhat counteracted by the sane-ness of parents interested in the well being of their child.

There are some instances where it seems to work the other way, children being given a reprieve from insane parents by being exposed to (at least) a diverse range of normal social behavior at school.

What is worse than an insane parent enforcing the insane training system that some educational bureaucrat has thought up with physical punishment?

Old_Zircon - 2010-11-28

It's not quite as bad when it's the school using these sorts of tactics (card systems and similar, I mean), because at least they're (theoretically) bound by laws agains the sort of punishment this mother is using (or worse). Of course, I imagine getting in trouble means having your parents notified, which in many cases means ending up with something like this happening (and of course this sort of treatment at home is very likely the reason the kid is misbehaving at school to begin with).

tl;dr - a very large percentage of the population are absolutely unfit to raise children, and they tend to be the ones most likely to raise children. also, Mormons can suck it.

Fezren - 2010-11-29

Did I hear that one of the cards was given for fighting with another child? I have to say that I don't really have a problem with "my way or the highway" if it pertains to violence in schools.

Are you really trying to say that you don't want rigid uptight authoritarians telling you that your child can't fight other children at school?

Anaxagoras - 2010-11-29

The mother's authoritarian bullshit probably contributed to her son's belligerence. When kids (and adults) aren't taught healthy conflict resolution, then they often resort to violence.

oddeye - 2010-11-29

Exactly, she's punishing him and at the same time making sure he will get in trouble again.

astropod five - 2010-11-29

The way he phrases it, and the fact that he only got one card pulled for it, I get the impression that he was arguing disruptively, not involved in a physical fight.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2010-11-28

Well PoeTV just earned it's E today.

BorrowedSolution - 2010-11-28

So. This is pretty much torture, right? And why does that little boy sound european?? Did she adopt him so she could abuse him like this?

BorrowedSolution - 2010-11-28

Oh, Dr. Phil website says she did adopt him. That's pretty messed up.

Baldr - 2010-11-28

Just think, one day you and your spouse could have children, and if you both died in a car wreck, she could adopt them too!

dead_cat - 2010-11-28

She adopted his twin brother, and he was part of the package. Incidentally, his twin brother, who she said she liked from the moment she saw his photos, is perfectly behaved.

jangbones - 2010-11-28

I've known a few normal Mormons.

Not many though.

Kingofthehobos - 2010-11-28

I like hot sauce and having cold showers, This woman would have no power over me.

standard8mm - 2010-11-29

Same here.

dead_cat - 2010-11-28

If someone bashed her fucking head in, I'd be all for giving them a medal.

phalsebob - 2010-11-28

Sure she's an evil bitch, but these stars are for Phil's exploitation of said bitch and her horribly traumatized child.

Burn in hell, Phil!

Riskbreaker - 2010-11-28

Why is this woman not in jail?

Rape Van Winkle - 2010-11-29

I'm glad an ominous sound accompanied the video, or I would have no idea how to feel.

Jet Bin Fever - 2010-11-29

This was awful. I hope she rots in fucking hell.

Fezren - 2010-11-29

When I was a young lad I'd either get a bar of soap in the mouth or the belt to my backside. Still, there were punishments that I considered worse as a child, namely those involving labor.

If you were wondering, I now have impeccable manners as an adult, and I rarely get in fights with children anymore.

Maybe I just grew up in a different time, in a different culture, but I couldn't help laughing when I saw a grown woman weeping over a mouthful of hotsauce and a cold shower.

Wombles - 2010-12-10

I thought it was sort of funny too.

But whats wrong here isn't the punishment, its what its for; pulling cards for extremely minor infractions. When i got hit it was because i did something pretty bad - this kid did almost nothing, and he's pretty small.

kingofthenothing - 2010-11-29

The shitty thing is that you know the daughter probably got in a ton of trouble after the show.

oddeye - 2010-11-29

Sometimes it's acceptable to use violence or the threat of it to get what you want. This woman is teaching her adopted son the wrong lesion.

dead_cat - 2010-11-29

She IS a goddamn lesion.

James Woods - 2010-12-03

Quad9Damage - 2010-11-29

Thank you, that was awful.

This woman is almost as disgusting as the Youtube comments. Fuck I hate people sometimes.

Konversekid - 2010-11-29

Does she honestly hate her children? How bitter or numb do you have to be to do that to your own offspring?

memedumpster - 2010-11-29

Poor kid, if only he had been born Chinese.

TeenerTot - 2010-11-29

I saw this episode. The really sad part is that this kid was from one of those Ukranian orphanages where he didn't get any human contact for his whole life there. The little guy is already all messed up emotionally, and this woman is his "savior"?

Poor lil guy.

CharlesSmith - 2010-11-29

Christ, do they not have Child Protective Services in Utah?

I would support an initiative to take those children away from that woman and then use her as an involuntary test subject in some hypothermia experiments.

Enjoy - 2010-11-29

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET THE GREEN CARD? THAT'S RIGHT YOU STAND ON THE ROCKING CHAIR WHILE I REPEATEDLY THROW THE CAT AT YOU.

Seriously, where's dad?

jerrysp702 - 2013-05-19

Holding the camera.

spikestoyiu - 2010-11-29

No wonder this woman had to adopt. Who in their right mind would sleep with and impregnate this beast?

Tyfus - 2010-11-30

Fuck that fucking cunt.

uwoeh - 2010-12-01

Mormon? More like "More Mom", amiright?

roughnready66 - 2010-12-01

Hot sauce? Cold showers? That's downright medieval. One day he spits the hot sauce back into her eyes. That'll learn her real good.

Xiphias - 2010-12-02

This was really really hard to watch. Harder than any accident/injury videos.

James Woods - 2010-12-03

Totally agree. Jesus Christ.

Walker - 2010-12-04

+1

:(

Oktay - 2010-12-03

:(

Tomas - 2010-12-07

Isn't there some kind of Governmental service designed to protect children from abusive parents that would take the kid away and brutally punish rape the chick?

joelkazoo - 2012-11-28

I'm not watching this, but it deserves stars. Where I grew up, it was not a case of what your parents did to punish you, but rather what they didn't do. By that, they were always able to justify their own abuse by retorting that at least they didn't abuse them worse. You got a spanking? At least you weren't hit! You were hit? At least he used an open hand. You got the belt? At least you weren't spanked on the bare bottom! It becomes this weird thing where parents honestly believe they're doing a good job as long as there is no bruising or blood drawn, which means emotional abuse takes a front seat and oppresses a lot of kids' development.

That guy - 2013-02-01

Hey you piece of walking shit, I hope you die in agony.
