This guy is a horrible parent for a robot. If a dog doll is a dog, and a giraffe doll is a giraffe, why is a human doll a doll? And how is it ever going to recognize a real giraffe is that's what it thinks a giraffe looks like? This is going to be one inconsistent ass robot.
I remember years ago Rare wanted to use the Game Boy Camera for digitising people's faces into Perfect Dark, but it got nixed due to post-Columbine hysteria. Since Rare are now a major developer for the Kinect, and the climate's pretty different, maybe the Kinect will end up being a useful tool for this kind of interaction.

I am guessing that certain aspects of this are scripted or pre-processed, seeing as how the computer seems to know perfectly well how to spell words that are actually very hard to recognize without context.
