This man (Beck) is having the ride of his life.
erratic - 2010-12-08
so, where's beck's evidence for any of this?

He isn't, actually. Still surprised to see him taking this position, though.
I know you have to 1-star it to keep your liberal cred, but also consider the submitter and the content. Gommorrah isn't exactly a Glenn Beck fanboy.
Rather telling that you think this is a matter of weighing what I think about Beck vs. what I think about Gomorrah, instead of the factual inaccuracy of what Beck is saying here.
I don't have a "team", Enjoy. I'm only on the side of the truth.

Very interesting..... I'm not sure I understand what is in it for the Social Democrats to turn on Assage but this case is rediculous.
Funny how you automatically equate it as "surprising" that "social democrats" would turn on Assange, and make sure to get that term in there. Is this because, in clumsily trying to make some weird jab at the left, you automatically associate "social democrats" as the only ones who actually give a shit about free speech as opposed to the other side who...well... don't?
His example of Putin as representative of "Social Democrats" is pretty fucking stupid. Mostly because he's lacking the Democratic part. Most countries in Europe have Socialist Democratic parties that vary from country to country and almost none of them have any sort of totalitarian bent.
Though there are plenty of reasons for plenty of people, including Russia, to be mad at Assange. Namely exposing their shady dealings. I think the point that he is right about is that these ladies were influenced by outside sources to take down Assange. However I doubt it was leftists fighting for social justice.
Assange has stated Russian leaks are coming up soon and any number of governments/corporations could have assisted these ladies in their trial to take him down for the equivalent of taking down Capone for tax evasion.

It seems Beck, the most insane person on Fox News, is actually the only one who upholds the "Fair and balanced" tagline from time to time. It's odd seeing him do something halfway decent that doesn't involve America or a constitutionalist agenda.
-2 stars for him still showing his liberalaphobia and democratic connection with EVILLLL COMMUNISM. It's to be expected but still.

The government is lying to you, and you shouldn't trust them. But it is imperative that we do not find out what the truth is.
At least he's driving drunk.
er...not driving drunk...
wiat but.. isnt beck supposed to be a libertarian? shouldn't libertarians be super into wikileaks? because... liberty and shit?
Glen Beck is a Republican who doesn't want to refer to himself as a Republican.
BorrowedSolution - 2010-12-08
Glenn Beck is fucking crazy. None of that made sense for any longer than five seconds at a stretch. I'm honestly surprised anybody's trying to divine any meaning from this at all.
phalsebob - 2010-12-08
Let's get right to the heart of the matter. Glenn Beck is Mr. Garrison minus Mr. Hat.
i'm so glad you're such an influential presence on this site.
John Holmes Motherfucker - 2010-12-08
Right or wrong, i still couldn't get to the end. I fully believe the charges against Assange have been trumped up, but hearing Glenn Beck say so (if that's what he's saying) makes me think I must be crazy to believe that.
What? Governments lie to citizens? Thanks for the late breaking news, Edward R. Murrow. You've been pilloried for saying so? Apparently, "pilloried" means "paid millions of dollars". Good night, and go fuck yourself.
Xenocide - 2010-12-08
So now he's flirting with the "men are the real victims in rape cases because feminism makes women lie" argument. Stay classy, Beck.
Even if Assange is absolutely guilty, governments don't launch an international manhunt on this scale to go after a rapist. The guy is being Al Caponed.
there's no international manhunt you idiot. assange turned himself in voluntarily as soon as an arrest warrant was issued in the country he was staying in
There were arrest warrants issued with international reach, he was placed on the top of Interpol's"Red Notice" list (putting him alongside terrorists and drug cartel leaders) and the media and government intelligence agencies across the world were trying to find him. I don't know what definition of "international manhunt" you're using, but it meets mine.

Fuck Glen Beck. He is starring slackjawed at what the real thing look likes. And it makes him feel so very small. Go ahead Glen; read some of the cables on your show. If you care so much about the truth, there it is, just a click away...
I /dare/ you to make less sense.
dead_cat - 2010-12-09
I suppose we needed *someone* to make the entirety of the WikiLieaks/Assange freakout look sane by comparison.
Lurchi - 2010-12-09
Gommorrah's philosophy is "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."
mon666ster - 2010-12-09
Even when he's right, he's wrong. Woman #1 is a "leftist" with a long history of work with anti-Castro and anti-Communist groups, including one group with CIA ties. This guy is so right wing he'll eventually start saying Reagen was a communist.
for fuck's sake
*assange* has CIA ties if that's the definition you're gonna use of "ties"
