Five stars for screwing the cult of celebrity right up the ass.

chumbucket - 2011-01-18

I think you meant "arse".

Also, what did Spielberg say?? What did he say???

Hooker - 2011-01-18

After his first HBO "comedy" routine and the very uneven Extras, I started becoming really disillusioned with Ricky Gervais. Luckily, he started pissing a lot of people off, so I'm back on board!

I'm sure he'll be relieved to learn this.

Aelric - 2011-01-18

Well, He did give me Karl Pilkington, so I can't hate him.

CharlesSmith - 2011-01-18

If you disliked Extras then your opinion on comedy is less than worthless.

Harveyjames - 2011-01-18

Dude Extras is pretty mediocre

Harveyjames - 2011-01-18

Though well done on fulfilling every stereotype I have of 'person on the the internet with an opinion on a thing'

pastorofmuppets - 2011-01-18

your face is mediocre

James Woods - 2011-01-19

Extras is awesome.

Supahfly - 2011-01-18

First dude doesn't even get a name, why is Tim Allen pissed?

mashedtater - 2011-01-18

is it just me or does ricky look a bit like mac from its always sunny in a suit?

IrishWhiskey - 2011-01-18

Yeah, because it would have been much kinder to introduce him as "The actor from 'The Santa Clause', 'Jungle 2 Jungle', 'Joe Somebody', 'The Santa Clause 2', 'The Shaggy Dog', 'Wild Hogs', and 'The Santa Clause 3'."

UmbilicalFiend - 2011-01-18

well he could have gone with "snitching coke-head drunkard" then start grunting and throwing tools into the audience.

Spoonybard - 2011-01-18

Tim Allen actually goes on to quote Toy Story a few moments later, presumably because A) both actors were in it and B) Buzz Lightyear was Allen's most mature role.

fluffy - 2011-01-18

I'm pretty sure Toy Story is why Allen and Hanks were co-presenting.

Bisekrankas - 2011-01-18

Yea hes just as mad as the scripted prepared response says, the guy is not that profound

jreid - 2011-01-19

True. Read Gervais' blog, the hostility was all showmanship.

jreid - 2011-01-19

(but 5 stars because it's still excellent)

Ocyrus - 2011-01-18

Stars for Allen delivering a shitty punchline in a shitty fashion.
He could have been funnier, but the coke was wearing off and he just went for what was on the teleprompter, I guess.
No, wait, I'm sorry, Tim Allen was never funny... at least to anyone not riding a short bus.

dead_cat - 2011-07-10

He's funny when Pixar's scripting him, but yeah.

Mother_Puncher - 2011-01-18

Tim Allen is just mad because he will never outgrow shitty sitcoms or kids movies.

TeenerTot - 2011-01-18

Celebrities are the biggest babies on the planet. I would gladly take Mr. Gervais' ribbing if my career had given me a mansion, piles of cash, and the opportunity to pat myself on the back at a dozen award shows every year.

Jet Bin Fever - 2011-01-18

If only this had been the Oscars so people would've been watching it.

simon666 - 2011-01-18

17 million viewers this year, getting more viewers than anything else televised at the time, and up from last year. Not terrible, is it?

citrusmirakel - 2011-01-18

"Neither of which is he now?"
That's an odd sentence.

IrishWhiskey - 2011-01-18

Give him a break, its not like he's an actor.

simon666 - 2011-01-18

Would "Neither of which is he, now." be more helpful for you now?

gmol - 2011-01-18

I only wish Elmo was one of the speakers:

"Mr. Gervais has done enough...."

cognitivedissonance - 2011-01-19

I like Ricky Gervais but I'll never in a million years know why the majority of Americans are presumed to know who he is.

pastorofmuppets - 2011-01-19

He was the star of Ghost Town!!!

Bhiu - 2011-01-19

Fuck you all. Galaxy Quest is one of the greatest movies ever.
