Hawkman has never been so frightening.

Is the pool of credible DC women characters so shallow the the Huntress had to be trotted out as the token female one who breaks up the sausage-fest?
PS: I don't read comics, I've just never heard of here.
Yep. It used to be that they explained Batman's longevity (born in 1922 and still fighting crime in 1982) as a matter of multiple parallel earths: on one earth Batman started fighting crime in the late 1930s and married Catwoman, and on another earth he started fighting crime in the 50s or 60s. Any given Batman story you read could have been an adventure of old Batman or of new Batman, depending.
At the time this show came out, the Huntress (old Batman's daughter) was an up-and-coming heroine and was pretty popular. A few years after that, DC Comics undid the whole "multiple earths" model, such that there was only one earth and only one Batman, who's been heroing for only a few years now. So old Batman was removed from history, and therefore his daughter was too. But the folks at DC liked the concept of a Huntress, so they reworked the concept: today's Huntress is the daughter of a Mafia don who was murdered.
You know too much about this now.
As someone who watches wrestling, though, I admire your dedication to illogical justifications of characters that sell toys.
