She has Silverman SPOT ON, though. This is also the girl that played Julie in the Scott Pilgrim movie and got her character perfectly.

Yellow Lantern - 2011-02-07 Plaza is one of my favorite comic actors working today. She's my favorite character on Parks & Recreation.
|
Mother_Puncher - 2011-02-07 Yeah she has talent. Silverman has the Tim and Eric problem where some stuff is almost funny until it gets pushed into the "try too hard to be shocking/offensive/bizarre" area. Her impression of Silverman sums up her comedy act nicely.

So...it's a woman trying too hard to impersonate another woman who tries too hard?
Are there any good female comedians?
Seriously, I'd like to know.

TheOtherCapnS - 2011-02-07 Kristen Schaal and Maria Bamford are both very good.

BorrowedSolution - 2011-02-08 Thanks guys. I forgot about Kristen Schaal. She was hilarious on the Daily Show the other night talking about rape.
"Can you show me on the piggy bank where Obama tried to money-rape you? Was it here? Did he drill a hole in here?"

I think there are more horribly unfunny male comedians than female because the market is flooded with male comedians and most of what makes it on TV is awful. I really only like Patton Oswalt and Jim Gaffigan as far as comedy central is concerned for stand up.
There was one really funny comedian that was a woman on Live at Gotham or whatever but I can't remember her name. Tall, blonde, very attractive, good timing, made fun of dumb women if anyone can help me out.

Mother_Puncher - 2011-02-07 Might have been Sierk. I just remember she was hot, funny, had a good stage presence and had sudden bursts of energy. I'm also a little worried that she is the same girl that had an actual special that was basically Dane Cook in a woman's body which means what little bit of the Gotham bit was all the funny she had.

The first time I saw Sarah Silverman was in the "Aristocrats", where announced that she had been raped by Joe Franklin. After THAT, I can forgive a lot.
Five stars for letting me see this girl outside of her P&R persona. She is truly wonderful in that show, although goddamn it, the best part of that show is Amy Pohler, who is acting on a level that SNL never allowed her to use, and I love Rashida Jones so much that when she was on The Office, I may have been the only person in America rooting against Jim getting together with Pam.

I've realized the reason i do not care for Sarah Silverman is because she is an ungodly amalgam of all of my ex girlfriends.
That said, she actually did rather well in Wreck-it Ralph. I truly think she should stick to voice acting and reading other people's material instead of writing her own.
