Um.

If you start shooting the protesters, that's how you amplify a revolution. The only governments that can do something like that and get away with it are the truly totalitarian ones. The Bahrain government is small time.

Oh, and here, enjoy one of the Youtube comments:

"Calm down people!

This was staged. News reports say the shooting occured at night and involved tear gas. See any tear gas? Hear any PA announcements warning them to disburse or be shot.

You dont find it a bit odd that the video captures the sign to show the location, but not one person being shot? And the camera was focused on the vehicles, instead of the protest when the shots started? Yet no puffs of smoke? No ricochets on the cement?

C'mon folks, don't be American idiots."

If Americans are willfully ignorant they can excuse themselves for supporting brutal dictators.

I've been shot at; and in the video that's exactly what being shot at sounds like.

Ah yes. Classic Youtube video forensic experts weighing in. "Im level 49 in COD and guns do *NOT* sound like that. Fake."

Quite a few former Ba'athist Iraqi army members found their way into Bahrain's security service. The conflict (Sunni autocracy vs. Shite majority) is much the same.

By the way, Bahrain is the base of the U. S. Navy's Fifth Fleet. We in the U.S. are definitely on the side of the shooters here.

"we?"

Baron_Von_Bad_Beaver - 2011-02-21

I think the US is playing the whole "we don't care who wins as long as we can park our boats here" angle.
