1394 Fuck Critical Mass.
fractured I feel like a lot of the problem people have with Critical Mass, or bicyclists who assert themselves generally, is that they are actually posing a legitimate threat to the current car-centric function of roads. It's the kind of discomfort people feel because something is different, but not for any well thought out reason (read: reactionary).
spikestoyiu Spoken like people who have never experienced Philadelphia's Critical Mass.
badideasinaction They may have their right to protest, but I have zero respect for them, given that CM shows pedestrians zero respect.
I walk. I transit. You want me supporting you, try ceding the right of way. When the critical mass people were screaming at me and nearly running me down for crossing the street where I had the light, I decided they could go fuck themselves. Practice what you preach, motherfuckers.
spikestoyiu Critical Mass in Philadelphia is much, much less about the freedom of assembly and opinions and all of that happy horsehist and much more about being a drunken nuisance to both motorists and pedestrians.
The type of people who get wrecked on PBRs at Bob and Barbara's and then participate in Critical Mass may do so under the guise of equality for cyclists, but I can't even explain the fucking stink they made after the city suggested a $20 yearly bike registration. I also can't tell you the last time I saw a cyclist obey a traffic law, which is a real pain in the fucking ass when you're a frequent pedestrian in this pile of shit city.
augias Well, like, this may just be me but, when there's a protest like a half mile long (on foot or bike or horse or float) along the Alameda here in Santiago, then I don't try crossing that street. Why? Because there is a half mile long organized protest along the Street.
spikestoyiu I've never tried crossing the street during a protest. You seem to be full of excellent ideas, though.
augias That was a reply badideasinaction. No facetiousness @ you
Mother_Puncher A lot of the bike punks I know are just obnoxious as fuck. I like the idea of riding bikes and cutting down pollution but a lot of it seems like front to rebel for the sake of rebelling and the people who are a part of it are trust fund hipsters who like people to think they are making a difference. They take themselves too seriously for what they are actually doing and, in my experience, are a lot like the straight edge warriors that will break your nose if they see you smoking a cigarette.

badideasinaction augias, spikestoyiu:
Maybe one day when you two grow a spine you'll go ahead and live your life and not let a bunch of stupid fucks with very little point to prove stop you.
Too bad Critical Mass preaches hypocrisy instead of respect. I'm not driving there, I'm not who they're riding against, but stupid shit like that chips away at what slim support they have.
andyweak Wait, are some of these comments in support of the road rage psychotic?
What the fuck is going on? Go back to post your comments on youtube. I used to think poetv had a great community. I even respected Cena Mark's comments although not completely agreeing.
Seriously fuck off.
spikestoyiu Stop me from what, exactly? Cross a street during a protest??
Live my life? What the fuck are you talking about?
Senator_Unger I always thought self-righteous, privileged bicycling was a first-world phenomenon. You learn something new every day.
Senator_Unger If you want to be an effective protester, take your concerns to city hall; don't piss off an entire city's worth of potentially sympathetic people by blocking their way to and from work. Of course, grinding out your concerns through local government channels is frustrating, time consuming and obnoxious. It's much more fun to inconvenience other people by dicking around in traffic, isn't it?

garcet71283 First there was Killdozer, now there is KillGolf.
Not a lot of sympathy on my end. Hope nobody was seriously injured, but it was bound to happen sometime, what did they expect?
augias 20 injured, 8 in critical condition at the hospital.
Tyfus When garcet71283 ends up being brutally murdered by a coalition consisting of his wife, co-workers and everybody else forced to interact with him on a daily basis:
Not a lot of sympathy on my end. Hope nobody was seriously injured, but it was bound to happen sometime, what did he expect?
Robin Kestrel It was just a goof.
simon666 For the US, anyway, maybe someone can explain to me since bikes are given the same rights as cars in the street by many State vehicle codes, why does traffic caused by bicycles warrant violence and not traffic by autos?
Trick question, it doesn't you fucking imbeciles.
kwash Driver runs down crazy cyclists in the street.
kwash Also, this is a good example of user name+submission=unintentional hilarity.
Tyfus Fuck off, you piece of shit.
kwash somebody rides a bike
kwash oh, and for the record, yes, hitting people with your car is bad.
fourthguy We are here at Critical Mass
a guy just runned over everybody
Avengingatheist I hope no one was seriously injured and I hope the driver loses his driver's license permanently.
Meatsack Jones I couldn't see...how many points did he score by the original Deathrace 2000 scoreboard?
longwinded yeah there's no way we've become desensitized to violence
godot A man who stood up against the U.N. one world government bike agenda. Dan Maes would be proud.
phalsebob I'm not watching this. I bike downtown several times a week, and I'm terrified enough by all the shit drivers and straight up psychopaths behind the wheel.
phalsebob Are you telling me to duct tape children to my bike to absorb impacts?
I think you might be.
Mr. Purple Cat Esq. I didnt watch this, too squeamish but I'll add my 2 cents anyway. I cycle everywhere, I cant drive and I constantly break the rules of the road. For a cylist sharing the road with cars trucks buses and whatnot it is an extremely dangerous environment, Ive adopted a style of cycling which I think is as safe as possible, basically my premise is that its much safer to have a motorist who maybe wants to kill to you but is aware of you rather than the general case where they just dont see you and kill you that way. I see a lot of "noob" cyclists in summer who use the bicycle lanes and whatnot who get knocked down. The officially devised system for cycling is extremely dangerously laid out.
(note: I am in Dublin Ireland)
TeenerTot If you kept to the "rules of the road" the motorists probably wouldn't aim for you.
Burnov Bike rights! Bike rights!

Tyfus Poetv is dead to me. Dead, you hear?!

This is all kinds of messed up.
rastarat I would pull this person from their car and kill them. Beat them with my ulock till their skull caved in.
Jet Bin Fever Lots of videos today are bloody hard to watch.
dead_cat I hope the judge also rules to take away his driver's license for life.
Kabbage There is something seriously wrong with you people.
Steve Airport WTF are these comments. Ramming your car into protesters is an excellent example of presenting a rational counter-argument! Bravo sirs
