I wear socks and sandals since I move to thailand for practical reasons. The sandals are needed because I have to take my shoes off when I come to the classroom to teach and it's a lot more comfortable than shoes and the socks are needed so bugs don't devour my feet, which is the part of me they love to eat the most and so my feet aren't caked in dust after walking outside for two minutes.

That said, anyone without these reasons should be shot.
