I'm not sure who this was directed at, because what Halo fan is highbrow enough to appreciate the finer qualities of the 2600? Maybe I'm just not drinking enough Mountain Dew Game Fuel to understand.
I have no idea what you mean, and I've read your comment several times.
What hate are you referencing? It doesn't seem like he hates Halo, just recognizes that the fanbase is too young to appreciate an Atari Halo port. Is it the Atari? Do you think he hates the Atari? He didn't seem to indicate that, really, and I'd be hard-pressed to call the Atari 'popular,' at least nowadays. Wait, could you mean Gamer Fuel? I don't think that's really popular either, I only really see that at like, Wal-Mart.
Oh wait, you're just an enormous blubbering fucked to pieces asshole.
The Atari 2600 could show 128 colors on screen simultaneously. The hardware only supported 4 colors per scan line, although you might have been able to work around that some.
Notice that Master Chief's faceplate is always the same color as the walls. He's probably using the "ball" sprite to draw it, and the ball sprite is the same color as the playfield foreground. Otherwise the faceplate would have to be the same color as the part of the head or the enemy sprite (or the tree, etc.) on the same scan line, or the background. Because those are the four colors you get.
