Thank you for restoring my faith in the South. Or at least some of the South.
charmlessman - 2011-03-11
Or at least that guy from the south.

mon666ster - 2011-03-11
Well, there are people cheering him on. I assuem some are Southern.

Oscar Wildcat - 2011-03-11
About as inspiring as a wet beer fart.

If the trade unionists had any sense, they would get up en-masse and give the Gordon Gecko speech from the movie Wall St. Then strike and not stop until their wages are doubled. If we all agree ( as we seem to ) that greed is good, then by god, greed is just as good for the trade unionists as it is for the CEO. Can I get some hosannas from the conservative commentators for this position?
baleen - 2011-03-11

We been pro-gressive. It's time to get a-ggressive.

Xenocide - 2011-03-11
We need more folks like this guy. Enough of the stereotype that if you're a tough hombre from the south you're automatically a far-right conservative. That dog won't hunt!

Jim Hightower kicks all sorts of ass. I found out about him through The Jimmy Dore Show. Every monologue he records is a jewel of folksy liberal wisdom.

charmlessman - 2011-03-11
Why he's as folksy as a bucket of corn pone and a gunny sack of hard tack. Woo doggy!
memedumpster - 2011-03-11
It's hard to not be entertained by his words, but there's no reason to believe he's not just another lying ass shill manipulating everyone there to fail for his monetary interests.
phalsebob - 2011-03-11
Like trying to manipulate workers into protecting their rights?

Or are you joking? I can't tell... it's been a long ass week and I'm tired.

memedumpster - 2011-03-11
I'm just cynical, I'd assume he was lying if he said the sky blue if it's fairly obvious you don't get rich by telling the truth.

memedumpster - 2011-03-11
Or rather, he'll tell them what they want to hear to their faces to become a media darling, five star material kind of guy, then move behind their backs to destroy them.

RomancingTrain - 2011-03-11
So you're a bigot but it's cool because you hate every single Texan.

baleen - 2011-03-11
Hightower is pretty genu-wine Roy Rogers material.

Also, how can you hate shit like this:

The "Doug Jones Average," a concept created by Jim Hightower, is the proposal that in order to check the true health of the American economy, it is less useful to look at the Dow Jones Industrial Average than it is to check up on how Doug Jones (i.e., a former Major League Baseball relief pitcher) down the street is doing. If Doug Jones is on welfare, has a high e.r.a, cannot feed his family, is blowing his savings, and is three weeks behind on his bills, the Doug Jones average is "down." If Doug just got a raise, records more strikeouts, can pay his bills, has a good WHIP, and Doug and his family are looking into owning a nice but not too expensive house, the Doug Jones average is "up."

5 stars for the Doug Jones Average
