Meerkat Both whales and dolphins think head-butting the continental shelf off Japan is an aphrodisiac.
dododge Yeah just be warned that at HD clarity this one can get pretty unsettling at times. There's at least one spot where fleeing vehicles are overrun by the water and numerous cases of people stuck in traffic jams jumping out of their cars and running from the wave on foot. Near the end there's a roof full of people that are clearly freaking the hell out as they can see just how much water is coming.
takewithfood I can't imagine what it was like for the helicopter crew. Even if they wanted to abandon their proper jobs and go help out, how could they? Heartbreaking.
thirteen3seven I don't think they were freaking out over the water. It looked like there were a couple people on the ground running alongside the building, but the smoke and infographics block them out most of the time.
Ursa_minor The shots where you see a whole row of cars trying to flee get overtaken is just awful. I just can't imagine the horror.
kingarthur This reminds me way too much of Katrina. Not a good feeling. Still, this appears much more intense.
"Oh come on. Why is there so much crap in the water? And look.. they fucked up and put flaming stuff on top of the water. Fucking ridiculous."
Disbelief can be handy at times.
zerobackup So many animes are going to be made using this footage as reference.
memedumpster The person standing on the back of the truck. Also their balls are godlike.
Ursa_minor Yeah, for blocking the overpass so the people down the road can't get to high ground and are subsequently swept away. Watch it again. There are two semis blocking the road, and the doomed traffic jam is a direct result of that.
TheQuakeSoldier Forgive me for noticing this, but the English narrator in the background is the same guy that narrates the UAC videos in Doom 3. As if the situation needed to be any more chilling.
Jet Bin Fever Jesus, it's disturbing how horrific and yet beautiful the water is to view. God help those poor people.
James Woods Holy shit. Talk about information overload. I hope at least one of the people talking is saying "I love you baby. Stay calm for me" or something like that over and over again.
