You are not allowed to harass other people in public and call them "animals".
One of these two things sparked this confrontation and it wasn't the legal one.
Nobody deserves to be assaulted -or- verbally harassed for any reason.

Especially since these particular "animals" were black, and you definitely can't say anything to black people.
Plenty of asshole behavior isn't illegal and no one should be afraid of calling people out on their bullshit to their faces for fear of physical violence (perpetrated by multiple people).
