What most people don't know is that *regular* dollars also start out alive. They're a specially bred flatworm. While they're alive they're covered in millions of iridescent cilia.

To be turned into legal tender they have to be shorn and tanned. But if you look close you can still see the little squiggly red and blue fibers stuck to them.
