StanleyPain It's a really good movie, one of Scorsese's best. Obviously it offends hard-line Christians (mostly Catholics), but the irony is that it's probably one of the best, most effective and moving films based on the Gospel stories ever made, probably because of how the characters are realistic and natural.
joelkazoo What Stanley said. It's easily in my Top 5 favorite movies of all time.
Paracelsus Answer: Yes. Too many positives. I'm not sure where it stands in Scorcese's work, but it's still Scorcese. As if that weren't enough, you've got Dafoe, Keitel, Bowie...not to mention a Peter Gabriel soundtrack. About two hundred times more worthwhile than 'The Passion of the Christ'.
chumbucket By viewing number 4, it becomes less and less of a good movie despite the positives (and best soundtrack ever).
fatatty Probably the only movie that ever made me empathize with Jesus. And one that portrays things in a way that really makes you feel the doubt people would have for a person like this. He feels like a human.
augias I am into Blonde Jesus. From now on I wish I may only see the Blonde Jesus on every video starring Blonde Jesus with a big tag that says Blonde Jesus.
Banal Intercourse Caesar appointed me to govern this province. The first thing I did? Changed my look! All of Palestine is freaking out over my new look!
