The thing about the Nazis is that they didn't really have to do very much to stoke up anti-Jewish sentiment. A lot of people think that before Nazis, Jews were sort of allowed to do their own thing or something, but there was shit tons of anti-Jewish hatred in Germany and most of Europe at the time as they had been scapegoated for decades as the source of a variety of European problems (most notably the age-old "they control all the money and thus pull all the strings" thing). The Catholic church in Europe had still been quietly accepting the anti-Jewish pogroms for decades, not to mention keeping the concept of "blood libel" alive. Hitler really didn't have to do much to get things going, and this is historically important because it runs directly in the face of the nonsense claim that the Nazis were somehow atheist or anti-religion. Far from it...Hitler used religion and the anti-Jewish sentiments of religion as the foundation for Nazism. He hated the Catholic church personally, but had no problem collaborating with them.

I'd replace "decades" with "centuries," otherwise, yeah.

Yeah, nobody ever seriously persecuted jews outside of Spain until the mid-2oth century. Other Europeans just decided to coin the word "pogrom" back in the 1800's because they're really fastidious people and like to have words for things that haven't happened yet.

Look up the work Pogrom, man. Russians started it, but they happened all over the world from Africa, the Middle East to Latin America. Murdering Jews has been a global pass time for centuries. Nazis just institutionalized it.
