Usually I have nothing but terrible to say about funimation dubbing, but this is amazingly good. Possibly because they had all their usual VA talent do horribly cheesy accents, which fits the show perfectly.
As someone who almost never watches anime, I can't recommend this series strongly enough. The first series was amazing and the second is even better. My favorite recurring joke is that Italy will immediately surrender at the first sign of trouble.
Yes, the fanbase is filled with crazy slash bitches who take their obsessions way too far even for crazy slash bitches and people who insist the series is incredibly historically accurate (and probably have never done any real research about WWII or anything else for that matter).
