Your precious Looney Tunes are DEAD, and everything done to kill anime has only made it STRONGER!

KNEEL!!!

Cena_mark - 2011-06-02

This may be crap, but its not anime.

Cena_mark - 2011-06-02

You just wish there were pink ponies here.

Xenocide - 2011-06-02

My favorite is the orange pony, actually. She's a tough small business owner from the south, and she's tired of big government telling her what to do.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-06-02

Rarity is the best.

KNEEL!!!

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2011-06-02

If you wouldn't party with Pinkie Pie then I'm going to love and tolerate the shit out of you anyways because that's what the ponies would want.

Jeriko-1 - 2011-06-03

Pinkie Pie all the way. She's like HST's disembodied spirit animal.

Cena_mark - 2011-06-03

My fault for bringing up the damned ponies, but y'all are ruining this place.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2011-06-03

I WISH THERE WERE PINK PONIES HERE

MY EYES ARE FUCKING BURNING

Corman's Inferno - 2011-06-03

If Pinkie Pie is ruining poetv for you, cena, then by god, more Pinkie Pie videos STAT!

TeenerTot - 2011-06-03

I'm ashamed to say I'm starting to agree with Cam about the anime. I recently watched Hetalia (thanks to this site), and haven't seen a cartoon funnier than that in a while.

And, yeah...this is pretty awful.

Cena_mark - 2011-06-03

Its not Pinkie Pie, I just said the "Pink one" as an example. I'm talking about your whole damned fandom that won't shut up about the fact that you watch a cartoon intended for little girls.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-06-03

The future belongs to anime and ponies.

Your rabbit's future is in a tomb.

KNEEL!!!

Binro the Heretic - 2011-06-02

"Say, you know what this cartoon about animals hitting each other with sledgehammers and anvils needs? Relationship humor! AMIRIGHT?"

James Woods - 2011-06-02

uuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhg

fedex - 2011-06-02

uhhh John K isnt...dead?

Binro the Heretic - 2011-06-02

That's how bad this is.

It reaches tendrils far into the future.

Xenocide - 2011-06-02

He's rolling over in his career's grave.

fatatty - 2011-06-03

He also had a part in creating this. One of his former animators, Jessica Borutski, redesigned the cast for this.

Corman's Inferno - 2011-06-03

And, before he got the boot so they could turn it into a sitcom, Spumco alum "Big Jim" Smith was originally behind this series, and was even working on some UPA-style redesigns of the characters.

sosage - 2011-06-02

Outside of the concept of a female counterpart to Bugs, I am having a difficult time spotting the evil.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-06-02

The female counterpart to Bugs is from Space Jam.

That's why she's dressed like a cheerleader.

twinkieafternoon - 2011-06-03

It's funnier if you imagine that they're watching Space Jam. And everyone in the theater knows it's him. And they know he's in the theater, but they don't know where, so he can't make a sound to indicate where he is, because the embarrassment would be catastrophic.

And also, that they didn't revive Lola, but as a twit instead of a basketball player.

Xenocide - 2011-06-02

Bugs is just making that expression because they're about to see Fast Five.

So I watched this episode, and it serves up the unimaginably played out sitcom stock plot where the guy is dating a psycho chick but he's too timid to break up with her.

Does a character even exist who is a worse fit for that storyline than Bugs Bunny?

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-06-02

Rapeman.

Killer Joe - 2011-06-02

Hohoho.

Redlof - 2011-06-02

Bugs is supposed to be the wacky character to someone else's straight man. Why would you just throw that formula out?

bluiker - 2011-06-03

Because he's now a bland Mary Sue for furries who want to date Lola Bunny.

Spit Spingola - 2011-06-02

All the sitcom writers who don't have jobs because of reality TV now write for this. It's old episodes of Hangin' With Mr. Cooper with Bugs Bunny and pals plugged in. Some violence would certainly help this show feel a little less wrong.

Gotta say, the animation in this isn't bad at all. It sort of makes this stuff watchable. Plus they haven't done anything good with these characters in 40 or 50 years so how can you care that much? You're grateful it's not making Loonatics.

Spit Spingola - 2011-06-02

they're not making loonatics.

snothouse - 2011-06-03

White people problems.

Chalkdust - 2011-06-03

a lot of things about this anger me, but perhaps none so much as the complete lack of sound effects

Triggerbaby - 2011-06-03

The lack of humour bothers me more.

ez - 2011-06-03

I couldn't see it at all - link down - does she suck his dick?

Bort - 2011-06-03

Oddly enough, this actually illustrates the relationship between the GOP and the Teabaggers. (I assume they're watching "Atlas Shrugged.")

That said, if you have to search for ways to enjoy a Bugs Bunny cartoon, and "allegory for current events" is the best filter available, there's probably something wrong with your cartoon.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2011-06-03

Bugs has passed from being a cartoon character to a corporate mascot. His best days are behind him (though still far better than most cartoons, and it's not like they aren't available on DvD) and all you can look forward to are soulless stuff like this that a committee thought was funny. The same goes for Mickey Mouse, though he was never really "ha-ha" funny, but more "ha-ha, cute."

Comparisons with anime by some on this site are quite clueless, as one could say much the same about every anime that's largely a commercial for a toy line, card game, or salaryman underage wank-fantasies.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-06-03

Keep pontificating over the corpse of your racist rabbit, little man!

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2011-06-03

Keep the dream that anime in the US is alive and well as nearly all of the companies who license the stuff are going under. TokyoPop (though that's manga, really) just died, there's less and less anime on TV in the states, and those who used to bring it over from Japan are finding it to not be the huge profit-engine they thought it would be.

And that's actually quite ironic and funny to claim Bugs Bunny as 'racist' given the attitudes of the Japanese towards... well, just about everybody.

Oh, wait, you mean the old Bugs Bunny cartoons where he was exclusively the nemesis of the Japanese? Ahhh, yes, that would be because our countries were at war with each other when they were animated. Is he (and Donald Duck, for that matter) equally 'racist' for lampooning the Nazis? Real-world events like wars must confuse you or don't hold any interest when you find out that the vehicles aren't bikini-clad lolis that could transform into Spitfires and so on, but you really ought to read a non-fiction book here and there.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-06-05

Writhe in my cage of torment.

James Woods - 2014-11-05

The new Mickey Mouse shorts are pretty funny.

TeenerTot - 2011-06-03

I have this "thing" about female characters with the cheerleading. I did voice work for a toy line and every other female character was a cheerleader. But I think my favorite was another girl character. Prepping to go in for recording, I asked what her personality was. The response: "She's fat."

Real creative writers, there.
