Yes, modern art is so much BS.

Oktay - 2011-06-11

THIS IS POSTMODERN ART, YOU IGNORANT FOOL!

Oktay - 2011-06-11

I should have said "...YOU IGNORANT FOOLS", sorry about that. I failed to read the tags before posting. Once again, apologies.

Old_Zircon - 2011-06-11

This kind of abstract art isn't particularly "modern" unless we're suddenly in like 1925 and I missed it.

phalsebob - 2011-06-11

"Modern" is just a label, like "art".

She looks like she's having fun, so that's something.

Oktay - 2011-06-11

I kinda like it, actually.

dueserpenti - 2011-06-11

I really like the paintings.

Tripitaka - 2011-06-11

So do I. The fact that a four-year-old is churning out work that's at art school thesis level is pretty damn impressive. I can't wait to see what kind of stuff she'll be creating at eighteen.

bias - 2011-06-11

I think they're alright. I also think that there is zero chance that shes producing these things with out at least a very heavy amount of coaching from her parents, who by the way happen to both be artists.

Cena_mark - 2011-06-11

Big deal so her parents have connections in the art community and bought her art supplies superior to the typical finger paints most kids her age get.

kingarthur - 2011-06-11

Or her parents painted it for her. If that comes out, cue everybody who was in on it, from dealers to collectors crying out in shock, shock I tell you!

kingarthur - 2011-06-11

And that wouldn't be the first time it happened.

fatatty - 2011-06-12

Yeah there's no way a 4 year old can smear paint around and glue shit to a canvas. Clearly we're talking genius level here.

takewithfood - 2011-06-11

I prefer Axe Cop.

memedumpster - 2011-06-11

Whoa, now we see why she liked Poptart Cat so much. Also, every time her mom uses art lingo it murders all art a little bit.

fatatty - 2011-06-12

Yeah I much prefer "this is the boat with the oar and all the rainbow" to "this is abstract expressionism and also surrealism because she uses objects".

Especially since using objects in your paintings is not surrealism, that's collage. If you're going to bullshit about your daughters finger-painting messes at least do some research.

sosage - 2011-06-11

It's an expression, even if it is by a child being guided by parents that are artists.

One of the elephants in this room is that her stuff, while nice, would render a giant shrug and wind up lost in the white noise of other similar artists. Gimmick is what pushes modern art these days. In this case, her gimmick is that she is 4 years old.

White Trash Party - 2011-06-11

I like her much better then the little girl that designed dresses.

Makes me glad I never went to art school like I wanted to in high school though. Looks like a lot of BS.

kingarthur - 2011-06-12

You know what? I'm just going to start making art by slapping my paint-covered dick and balls against a canvas and invent some bullshit post-modernist theory to explain it full of so many instances of art babble only academy-approved geniuses will ever "understand" it.

I can do this. I have an art history degree.

Warhol was the last real artist. He understood that nowadays art is a product and celebrity is its measurement.

I'm gonna tattoo "Bauhaus" on my cock.

kingarthur - 2011-06-12

Also: "Raaaaaawwwwrrrr!"

oddeye - 2011-06-12

Nothing special, apart from she is 4 years old.

Jet Bin Fever - 2011-06-15

I'm glad I didn't peak at 4 only to go out of fashion at 6.
