Burnov When I found out about the phenomenon of bitcoins after seeing the video I really couldn't wrap my brain around the concept that getting my computer to chew through encryption algorythms would somehow create something of value.
My girlfriend thought it was something similar to CPU sharing and creating a network of "cloud servers", I mean its debatable that something such as that could really generate a worthwhile profit, but it was somewhat more reasonable than the reality of what bitcoins are.
Honestly, I don't really think most libertarians take this shit seriously, perhaps some of the really kooky ones, but anyone can see that this shit isn't going to work.
The only thing that may facilitate its use is the criminal black market.
Anyhow, when I was looking for articles to read on bitcoins I found this interesting article pointing out some key reasons as to why it would fail.
