I played Shenmue 2 on Xbox solely because of the English dub. The 'Monty Python old lady' school of voice acting shows everywhere.

Remember, this game was being pimped as being the new frontier regarding NPC interaction, that you could interact with everything and everyone. Turns out you can, only that every single NPC, aside from the hot dog guy and the guy that can't use a vending machine, will all tell you to fuck off.

Also, the reason the dub in Shenmue is so abysmal is because mr Yu Suzuki wanted tu supervise every single detail of the game...in japan. So, they picked whoever they could for the dub instead of trying to get professional voice actors.
