I like Tim and Eric, but I did actually go to one of their live shows and, although the show was entertaining and funny, the audience was weapons-grade hipster to the point that I think some sort of time/space singularity was almost achieved, but narrowly avoided thanks to my presence.
I went to one in Chicago. There sure were a lot of hipsters. However, the audience was divided into people who were laughing at Tim and Eric's humor and people, like us in the back, who were laughing with Tim and Eric. The people in the back were considerably older than the hipper people in the front. Eventually, we older people couldn't tell who was laughing at whom. It just seemed that Tim and Eric were laughing at everybody just for showing up. This is kind of why I love them.
Long story short I went to see Tim's band Heidecker and Wood. I sat near Tim and Neil Hamburger at a place in LA. I didn't say a word to them. However, I heard from a guy at a bar that they frequent that Eric is fine to talk to but Tim is kind of a dick. I agree. They probably are getting off on the fact that some of their fans (if not most) suck.
