Mega Man 1 is a hell of alot harder than 2. But two is still my favorite by far.

That's probably what made it the most fun. You could get creative in all the ways to kick its ass.

Actually I think you are mistaken Caminante Nocturno, if I was told correctly in the American version the developers added an option to select an easier difficulty titled "normal" that made the baddies quite a bit weaker. The harder difficulty titled "difficult" is actually equivalent to the Japanese's difficulty.

Whether it was the hardest or not, MM2 was clearly the best.

I still catch myself humming the Wily's Castle theme on a weekly basis. And yeah, the Metal Blade was so badass, it basically made the entire American version a cakewalk. I remember reading some Nintendo Power article where they recommended pouncing Metal Man as your third or fourth boss, but screw that. Get it first and the game's pretty much over.

I disagree that Megaman 2 was the hardest in the series. Megaman 1 had Gutsman's stage and the Yellow Devil.

Well, there was a Goemon who was a legendary outlaw during the feudal period in Japan. He was a contemporary of Nobunaga, Hideyoshi and those guys. There are some pretty cool stories about him out there.
