I expected the American team to be more experienced in this regard.
As far as I know a sports writer from the U.S was at the game and apparently the referee was making some really biased calls and the Chinese team was getting butthurt/frustrated at the strong physical game of the americans.
Tired of flopping around like the keystone cops (and losing they decided to pick a fight.

What's the back story? The way these guys effortlessly mopped the floor with the Americans, I'm guessing this is a PLA-based basketball team.
