Usually it is recommended that when shooters try a higher caliber revolver for the first time, they alternate loading each barrel to specifically avoid that sort of potentially fatal accident.

I sincerely don't recommend starting anyone on a higher caliber ammunition. In all likelihood they'll develop a nasty flinch and they may seriously hurt themselves or another.

Wow, that would be a neat trick if it were true, since the earliest American usage of the word was applied to Presbyterians in 1830, and later to poor American farmworkers.

Before that, in the 1600's, the only other usage of the term was from the British Isles, but it was the Scots, some of whom tended to sign anti-bishop screeds in their own blood and would wear a red scarf around their necks to indicate their affiliation.

It's a pump action shotgun; she would have had to load another round for it to go off if it fell to earth, the only thing that would be accidentally fatal for that gun was if someone ran in front of the shooter when they were firing.
