We had some cichlids in an aquarium; they made those faces. One got really big, but then we had an extended power outage due to an ice storm and they died.
I don't know where I'm going with this story, but we also had this little striped fish that exceeded its normal lifespan by several years. I think it had grown extra organs or something because the fish itself spent its extra years permanently bent in the middle at a right angle.
It just seemed like an appropriate story to tell right now, though I don't really know why.
