it's not his fault, japanese guys just love fisting

Riskbreaker - 2011-08-29

I would say that's moe of a german thing.

Riskbreaker - 2011-08-29

That's just how Arino Rolls.

FABIO - 2011-08-29

In some of these he does a hell of a lot better than you'd expect for some middle aged guy (dude beat Ninja Gaiden for christ's sake).

Then in others it's like watching your sister try to play.

CJH - 2011-08-30

dude beat ninja gaiden under some pretty suspect circumstances. basically had a team of guys do the final level for him, then teach him exactly how to beat the final bosses, then some weird editing and he's at the last fight with full health and magic. even though i like the show i've noticed that sort of thing a lot.

sosage - 2011-08-30

Most people that beat these games a billion times over as children are this guy's age now. Arino just sucks at games, but makes up for it with resolve and snacks.

Riskbreaker - 2011-08-30

I like the show precisely because Arino is not some super hardcore nerd. He likes games, but he's no pro, if they choose him is because he's a likeable guy with a good sense of humor about his average skills. The show is very clear about him getting help from the nerdish AD crew, so it's not like they are hiding it.

As a kid, I could only beat beat some games with the help of my friends. Sometimes the only way you could overcome some of them was by arranging a sleepover and splitting the stages among whoever was best at them.

Coincidentally, that's how we beat Mega Man 3.

Riskbreaker - 2011-08-30

The team work aspect of the show is another thing i like, i also like how the non-nerd of the staff (camera man abe) gives some of the best advice from time to time.

FABIO - 2011-08-30

The highlight is definitely Arino's comments, but it's just weird how they pass off stuff like Castlevania 3 the hardest game ever, or Megaman 2 the hardest of the series.

I wish they'd just have the whole thing be Arino and drop all the obnoxious cutaways.

Go to the password screen, put a red dot at A6, and you'll start the game with 9 energy tanks. It doesn't matter what password the game gives you, as long as you put a red dot at A6, you'll have 9 energy tanks.

I found that one out by myself, without any help from Nintendo Power or Gamepro.

I'm awesome.

Innocent Bystander - 2011-08-30

Arino is 38? Wow, he looks great.

FABIO - 2011-08-30

I would have guessed 40s =(

Riskbreaker - 2011-08-30

After playing Muscle Bomb Jack, Atlantis no Nazo and Adventure Island i think poor Arino aged faster.

FABIO - 2011-08-30

He beat the third and first games but not the second? That's like breezing through Battletoads only to get stuck on Where's Waldo.
