Korean script looks so damn cool.

Uh oh, this video does not show a black man in a favorable light. That goes against the progressive narrative. Prepare for an army of angry idiots in here.
oh no a bunch of socially retarded assholes may think this entire website is racist

Other than the fact that it takes place on a bus, this isn't really anything like Epic Beard Man.
I want to give it five for evil, but I felt really uncomfortable watching this.
OK, this is a video of a guy assaulting people and it's different from the beard guy video because that was a failed assault attempt. The comments it's inducing around the internet are exactly the same except you have Anti-American and Asian stuff thrown in.
I hesitated a bit before posting this but hell, people have posted the Jonestown audio tapes here, so whatever.
Yeah, I was hoping the diminutive Asian man would bust out some crazy Taekwondo and put Dreadlocks McFoofoo on his ass. Once I realized there was no justice coming, this video just made me sad, and a little bit angry.
Those Asian people were OK afterward, right?
Epic Beard Guy: two men get into a ridiculous fight on a bus, one man of which makes it physical and gets his ass handed to him as a result. Justice is served and a bunch of people get upset because a black dude gets beat up.
This video: one man terrorizes an entire row of people on a bus that he knows will not fight back under any circumstances. Justice is not served and a bunch of people will get upset because it shows a black dude being an asshole.
I haven't dared look at the YouTube comments and I'd rather not.
I'm also not saying that videos that make me personally uncomfortable shouldn't be posted here, I'm just saying that it's difficult for me to rate them.
five anyhow. :P
it's not the videos in either case that really make people upset, it's more the ignorant, racist reactions that burst out of the internet like an overdue pimple every time something like this shows up. the asshole with the dreadlocks isn't the bad guy here, it's you fucking people.
don't do me like that, hooker. you know i don't mean you, baby. just all these other assholes. come here.

And then they executed him.

He sounds like a henchman from a Batman movie. Especially the laugh at 0:27.
|themilkshark - 2011-08-31 |
I bet he gets picked on by bigger, meaner black guys.

And then he got off the bus, blended into the crowd, and the police were never able to find him.
If he's really in Korea, the police are just as scared as that ENTIRE bus of people. Black Americans are MEAN BAD MEN! Hasn't the Grand Theft Auto series taught you ANYTHING?!
This guy certainly isn't doing much to dissuade them of that perception.

A little more info on the incident here. The man in the video is in Korea as an English teacher but he didn't know much Korean and thought they were disparaging his race.
Seriously...the racism excuse is kind of weak in a country that has zero historical contact with your people. Europe and N. America, understandable, Asia...they are just scared to death of anything that isn't in the 99.95 percentile.
Also, this guy is a tool.
Mom says I'm old enough now.

Seems they let any idiot go to asia to teach english.
Don't forget this dink:
It's true. I had no business teaching there, though I grew into the position and took it seriously while I was there.
Here are a list of facts about the culture in general:
Korea is a hermit nation with very little tourism, so their exposure to foreigner's in general is very small. I was constantly gawked at even in my metropolitan city because a lot of the time I am simply the first waeguk (foreigner) they ever saw.
Korean's put a lot of value in image, and they consider white skin pretty and dark skin ugly. This results in some fairly racist things being said, intentionally and otherwise.
Koreans are scared of foreigners because they represent an unknown in there culture, not registering in the social hierarchy and not fitting into their cultures templates.
The previous points often build up over time in the sentiment of waeguk which sometimes results in outbursts like this one. Well, not usually this bad, more like arguments with cab drivers, but you hear about shit like this from time to time.
There are a lot of words that have the prefix niga in it. A LOT. This annoys people who don't already know that.
My verdict: This guy is an asshole overacting to mere words. Even if the Koreans were being racist, which they very well could have been, he had no place acting like that. I understand how he might feel pushed to this in a culture generally hostile to him, but you also can't flip out like that, pretty much ever of anywhere.
It's not just Korea; pretty much all of Asia covets lighter skin. In Thailand, light skin is a sign of status. Because if you're darker, well, that must mean that you work in the fields and you're poor. Pharmacies and street vendors sell cheap lightening cream that has been known to bleach skin.

I can't speak for the Koreans in Korea, but the ones I have met here are grotesquely racist.
I love this video.

The important thing to do in any language/cultural misunderstanding is to act like a tremendous asshole.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, black demon! I will go to the temple immediately and make an offering of incense and coconut milk.

Pretty difficult to defend that behavior but it looks like he snapped. Doubt he'll have any students after tomorrow.
