Steebis This is fantastic, The actual sculpture is gorgeous on it's own. I can't believe how natural the animation looks. I'm going to assume they film the actual movement, project it, then cut each frame out.
baleen I believe it's a giant spinning flipbook of sorts containing 65 "frames" mounted on a motorized spindle. Light is simply projected across the installation to create the effect of animation.
